Colleen & Michael

My husband texted his mother on our first day and told her that I was “the one.” I think I even knew before then.  I am a firm believer that there is no timeline you must follow when it comes to love because when you know, you know. It’s simple.

Colleen and Michael were the same way. Meeting just under a year ago, their love came easy and they just knew. This thing they had was real love. You can see it when they look at his each other and you can feel it when you’re in their presence. I am so thankful that our paths have crossed and I cannot wait to photograph their wedding in the spring.

Gary & Jade

I had the extreme honor of being a part of Gary and Jade’s intimate wedding ceremony this past  August. They tied the knot surrounded by their close friends and family– including Jade’s amazing grandmother. It’s crazy to think that I photographed her grandmother’s 90th birthday party five years ago! She has such an amazing light about her and you see can see it shine through in Jade.

It’s such an incredible blessing to be able to capture these precious moments; to tell the story of someone’s love for their family and for one another. Gary and Jade are an incredible couple and I am so happy to be a part of the rest of their wedding journey… stay tuned for engagement photos soon 🙂

Tim X Meg – The Whole Story.

This post is almost an entire year in the making.

It started just after the new year in Brooklyn, NY. Well… actually, it started almost decade ago when I first met Megan in my first week of college at Michigan State. Adorned with a teal leather shoelace choker around her neck and most likely a cut off concert tee shirt, Megan and her big brown hair entered my life with absolute vim and light. She was full of political and literary zest. She introduced so many things into my life, like french press coffee and the heartache that is Joni Mitchell. We would go on to become roommates and kindred spirits. Shortly after college ended, Megan boldly packed a backpack and moved to Brooklyn, where she has made the most incredible life for herself. She found a career that she loved and surrounded herself with some truly amazing friends.

Fast forward a few years until the day  Megan texted me and ever so nonchalantly said , “So… Tim and I decided to get married last night.”  An immediate freak out took place on my end, out of excitement of course– but even more out of shock. Megan had made it very clear at a young age that she had zero intentions of ever getting married. But that was before Tim. Tim came into Megan’s life the way she came into mine. Tim is one of the most kind, sincere and loving people I have ever met and his love for Megan is palpable. I don’t know really how else to put it– Megan and Tim are perfect for each other. Their love is simple and it is whole.

Megan and Tim were married on quite possibly  the loveliest January day. We all carpooled downtown to City Hall and cheered them on as they exchanged vows and then we spent the afternoon eating brunch and drinking bloody marys. Despite the double ear and sinus infection I was battling, it was just the perfect day.. Full of love and full of life.

Because they had such a small winter ceremony, Megan and Tim wanted the opportunity to celebrate with all of the friends and family. So this past August, Chase and I traveled to Vermont for their summer celebration.  People flew in from all over, including Tim’s Mom who flew in from South Africa. Oh and Megan and Tim made everything!  from the food, to the  decorations.. everything had a personal touch. They even made a friendship bracelet for every attending guest.  It was easy to see just how much their family and friends meant to them.

I am so honored to have been apart of their day, not only as their photographer, but as their friend. Tim x Meg, I love you two to the moon and back. Cheers.
