Stephanie, Shanna, Shelly and I. The four of us, inseparable. That’s the way it’s been for almost fourteen years. Even though we have been spread out over cities and states, we have never left each other’s side. We have seen each other through date-less dances, exams, heartache, loss, career changes, babies, successes, failures and love.
Going through just about everything together, I truly believe that we are more protective of one another’s hearts than we are our own. So when it comes to the men in our lives, we are armed to the teeth. Our significant others not only had to earn the stamp of approval, but they had to earn their spot in our obnoxiously close and fast talking group. The screening process is nothing short of extensive and can sometimes be brutal. But, in the end– it just shows how much we mean to one another.
When it came to Freddy, I think we may have gone a little easy on him (He may beg to differ but that’s not the point). He came into Stephanie’s life and it just made sense. There is just something so easy about Stephanie and Freddy. They go together like cozy sweatshirts and Saturday mornings, like friends and laughter. Stephanie loves Freddy completely and it only takes one smile from him to realize just how much he loves her.
I think their engagement session was a perfect example of that easy going happy love. I mean, just look at them.
Nicholas, the adventurer. At almost two years old, he wants to check out everything. From the water, to the leaves, to all of the trees. Following him around as he experiences everything; seeing the spark in his eye as he takes it all in…. Just amazing. I would follow this kid, in his red cable knit sweater anywhere. Oh, the places he’s gonna go.
When a couple tells me they want to take fall engagement photos– It’s basically my happy place. The colors, the romantic mood, the lovely diffused light. Wait till you see how amazing Jade’s eyes are in the warm sunlight… just so perfect.
Gary and Jade were married this past summer, but are taking the time to enjoy the journey of becoming husband and wife, which I absolutely love. Some may argue with me on this, but I believe that there are no set of rules you have to follow as bride and groom anymore. Today, weddings are a lot more like life… Real, unique and rarely do they ever end up the way we first planned.
Stay tuned for the next chapter of their wedding story…

My husband texted his mother on our first day and told her that I was “the one.” I think I even knew before then. I am a firm believer that there is no timeline you must follow when it comes to love because when you know, you know. It’s simple.
Colleen and Michael were the same way. Meeting just under a year ago, their love came easy and they just knew. This thing they had was real love. You can see it when they look at his each other and you can feel it when you’re in their presence. I am so thankful that our paths have crossed and I cannot wait to photograph their wedding in the spring.
